plastic handles are sticky

I have a bunch of smith and Wesson cutting horse knifes that must have gotten hot or something because the rubber handles are really sticky. Does any one know how to fix this problem?? There are not the regular cutting horses knifes. These are the collectible ones. Please help me if you can. Thank you.

Try a bit of Dawn dish washing liquid in warm water. Try it on one and see if it will strip it down without discoloring .
