Plastic Knives in NYC?

Ok, I have not heard much talk about plastic knives, for lack of a better term. For example, the knives made by Cold Steel (i.e. delt dart). Of course, one better not have one on their person when at the airport or jury duty. However, believe it or not, they cut fishing line fairly well and do not corrode. Another benefit is, who cares if you lose them.

What if you have them in your posession when fishing, camping, etc.? I would think that they are frowned upon, but just never heard them mentioned.

They have been banned in a few areas, but not NYC yet. If you had one on a boat I think you would be OK. The only issue is a Officer thinking they are a weapon only knife and using the old "dangerous knife" charge to arrest someone with one. They are weapon like in desgin, and I would think a cheap metal knife is the better way to go.
