Looks pretty amazing. Sounds like a neat product. However, I doubt they'll replace metal detectors at the airport with a strong x-ray machine anytime soon.

Maybe they'll use it on bags - but new technology is expensive. It takes enough training for the workers at the airport to look at x-rays of bags; imagine trying to look at x-rays of people. Especially people wearing a huge variety of clothes/jewelry/shoes/etc that all show up differently.

Would there be a liability issue if the operator spotted a cancer and didn't say anything? How about invasion of privacy? How will fancy medical equipment react to a focused x-ray beam that's 4 times as powerful as before (e.g. pacemakers?)

I'm sure it'll be implemented eventually - but its going to be at least a few years down the road. I should mention, while I'm at it, that plastic knives shouldn't be taken through security checkpoints anyway, e.g. airports, cause it's probably illegal.
