Looking for ideas to store some of my most used plates and waters-tones on the kitchen countertop. The Nifty 3-Tier Oven Rack (the original and not the lesser Betty Crocker revision) with a drying mat below is what I have in mind so far. Utilitarian, next to the sink, space-saving, a nice showcase of colors and an interesting conversation piece. Any other ideas?

I saw a cool and compact rack here in the forums (it was black plastic) with several slots but seems to be just for Shapton Glass stones. I put mine away in tuperware tubs with a loose cover so the stones can get some air and put it under one of the kitchen cabinets. Mostly Shapton Pros with their own box/stone holders. Several large diamond plates turned up on edge next to them. Smaller tuperware for the Shapton Edge Pro stones.

The Chef doesn't want to see "the clutter" so I don't think she will buy the conversation piece angle.

I was looking around in the forum and didn’t see the photo of the stone rack I mentioned. I think it may have been in the first link Bellow.

Here is (was) a great thread. Link <<<<

The stone rack I mentioned was sort of like this : Link<<<<<

PhotoSunket sure has messed up things around here.

I’ll look some more when I have time.

When you mentioned that the rack was specific to Shapton, I immediately thought of the Shapton holders :) . The Nifty 3-Tier Oven Rack:

Can comfortably accommodate three 210x75x30 plates/stones per rack, four per rack with 1/2" spacing between the edges and plates/stones...

Still figuring out which stones to showcase (six plates/stones and the holder or nine plates/stones and the holder outside) and exactly where to showcase them (maybe the island countertop). If the rack remains in its current location next to the kitchen sink, will relocate and blank the double-ganged switch/receptacle behind it...

Acceptable live load deflection (5 lb York G2)...

Was not comfortable with the visual deflection seen with the inclusion of an additional 2.5 lb plate per rack. Hence, a 5 lb weight limitation should be considered when slotting heavier stones such as the Bester 220 and JNats with their variable weights.

OH that's what you meant. A real oven rack; some how I wasn't getting it.
COOL.
