As a dealer you should have purchased a Dealer membership.
You are showing as Platinum, but you do not have pm function yet. Perhaps you need to check your email for an activation email?
If you paid by paypal it can take up to 72hrs for your transaction to be processed by Spark. Sometimes longer depending on the holidays.
When that is taken care of you may need to update your Usergroup by going to Settings>Paid Subscriptions and selecting your paid membership, or by using this link: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/profile.php?do=editusergroups
I don't really like your insinuation that I was doing the dealer route without the proper dealer membership paid for.

What insinuation? Your signature had your dealer links in it. Your profile still advertises you as a dealer, as well as your link to your website in your hompage and your custom title. I only pointed out that as a dealer, you should have purchased the appropriate membership for such if you wished to remain a dealer.
Well I guess you still don't understand that I DID NOT WANT TO TAKE A DEALER MEMBERSHIP again.
When my dealer membership came up for renewal I decided not to reup - but instead of dropping to a regular membership I paid for a Platinum membership to show my $$ support to BF.
I thought this was a pretty nice thing to do on my part considering that I have less than 1000 posts in over 10 years.
But clearly instead of just helping me activate the Platinum membership, you seem bent on trying to embarrass me and start drama by accusing me of some effort to appear as a dealer on BF without paying.
My profile does now and will stay indicating that I am a dealer as it has for the last 11 years- as far as I now that is fully within the rules.
As far as the custom title I can change it to something else with pleasure .
But whatever you guys decide to do will be fine with me- you should be ashamed of yourself for your posts.

How did you pay? I'm not seeing it in paypal. EDIT: nm, you needed to go to the user cp and switch your permissions group. I got it for you. You do need to edit out the dealer info though, as that's not allowed at a non-Dealer membership level
SECTION 1- Membership Levels Defined:
BladeForums.com is supported by members who have paid subscriptions. These different subscription levels offer various perks and benefits. As such, only certain membership levels may advertise items and services for sale on this site. Below are some general guidelines as to what priviledges each membership has within this area.
MANUFACTURERS - Manufacturers & their designated moderators may offer items for sale in their dedicated Hosted Manufacturer Forum. Manufacturers are encouraged to contact us regarding pricing for a Hosted Manufacturer forum.
DEALER / MATERIALS PROVIDER - Dealers are defined as anyone who purchases at wholesale pricing, or purchases items with the intent to resell (flipping). Other terms for dealers include purveyor, broker, reseller, etc. Materials Providers offer raw materials such as steel, handle materials, or other items related to knifemaking in general as typical stock for sale to the forum members or to the general public via their own store front or website.
KNIFEMAKER / CRAFTSMAN / SERVICE PROVIDER (hearafter referred to as "Knifemaker") - Knifemaker's are allowed to sell items that they have personally created or modified in the KnifeMaker For Sale forums, or their own Hosted KnifeMaker Forum. If you are a knifemaker or craftsman and would like your own Hosted KnifeMaker Forum, please contact us.
PLATINUM or GOLD - Platinum or Gold members are allowed to post in any of the Individual For Sale or Trade forums. They may sell items in the For Sale By Individuals
BASIC MEMBERS - Basic members are not allowed to post items for sale. You may post items for Trade in the Wanted To Trade Forums, or post requests for items to purchase in the Wanted To Buy Forums.
REGISTERED USERS - The first level of membership. This one has no perks other than the ability access the Exchange to purchase items or trade. Registered useds are NOT allowed to post items for sale,
If you have not purchased a paid subscription, you are by default a Registered User. As such, you are not allowed to sell items on the forums. You may post items for Trade in the Wanted To Trade Forums, or post requests for items to purchase in the Wanted To Buy Forums.
*The only members who may promote or display their personally built knives, their products, or services in the discussion threads, signature, home page listing or their user profile are "Manufacturers", "Dealers", and "Knifemaker/Craftsman/Service Provider".*
Paid $50.00 by Paypal on 11/6 to Twelve Bravo Marketing.
Please confirm to the public so I don't look like a deadbeat as well.
Neil, I don't know what the problem is or why you are acting (in my view) overly sensitive and lashing out. You posted your question in a public area rather than sending a message directly to Spark or one of the moderation staff, so the subject has been discussed openly and honestly in the public domain. Certainly nobody has accused you of being a deadbeat.
I seem to remember a lot of forum members standing up for you here on the forums some time back when some sort of controversy reared its ugly head. If I am confusing you with another dealer, my apologies. My point being that I think you've been treated fairly and I'd venture to guess that you've gotten back what you've put into the site.
As to the rules, this is a business, much like you have to run. You don't give away knives for free and this site was forced at a point in time to offer memberships which would be beneficial to dealers and craftsmen amongst others and help defray the costs associated with running it.
You are actually incorrect about what's allowed in your profile...here are the pertinent sections but I will highlight the most pertinent in connection with the issue you raise:
Nobody is trying to embarrass you or take advantage of you. We are trying to maintain a level playing field. None of the moderation staff have any financial interest in the site and see not one thin dime. It's all done on a volunteer basis.
