hay guys, iv'e searched the threads but find no reference to this so i'm gonna ask first. On my gen4 spanto I installed a ti scale about 3 weeks ago and all was well but i have just noticed a fair amount of play when in the closed position. none of my current or past xm's have done this so i'm wondering if this happens with use as this is my edc? Is this a trait of the ti scales? or do i need to send it in for work? it's only about .75mm at blade tip but the detent and stop dont seem to be lined up anymore. just enough to where i feel it tap and it bugs me every time i close it.

thanks in advance for any help

I would loosen everything up and then tighten the pivot when the blade is in the half open and half way closed. Then you can tighten the scale screws from the bottom up. See what happens

Thanks guys. I have always put um together like that. Love that thread, has saved me alot of headache. Not sure whats going on but i took it apart 2 times and same thing. When i gave up and put it back together to ship out its back to good old hinderer awesomeness. Dunno what was different but thanks for the help. Ill say the good advise worked. Even though i don't know what i did wrong. Ill let ya know if it comes back though.

Is it a smooth ti scale made for a gen 4? Or is it an older one where someone else drilled out a stop pin hole? (If it's a frag or a textured then it's definetely an older one thats been drilled, if it's smooth then the seller should have disclosed that it was altered if it was) if it was bought direct from rhk then it isn't a scale problem. The issue could be that the stop pin hole was not drilled deep enough or was drilled off center. Both of those issues could cause the problem that you discussed.
