Playing Harmonics

Could someone explain to me the technique used to play harmonics on a bass guitar? I've seen it done and I've been trying to mimick what I see, but I can't seem to get the correct sound.

You can also look for a book by Dean Peer titled "Bass Harmonics". Great book if you really want to know how it's done....properly!

So it's like playing harmonics on a regular guitar?

Dragging my finger across the string while letting off helps to make it ring nicely.

I you want to hear some good bass harmonics listen to Metallica's "Orion" off of Mster of Puppets. Cliff Burton really shows his stuff.

Cliff Burton is my favorite bass player. The bass solo in Orion is amazing. It doesnt even sound like the bass comes in...It's like a continuation of the guitar solo.
