So yeah, i posted this in the becker forums earlier today, but decided that it would be appropriate for here as well....
So I was gifted a Ka-bar 1217 from our dear friend Moose (over in the becker forums)...
so i decided it was time to take it out and play around a little. I figured I would take some pictures so show Moose that the ka-bar was getting a little use.
Here is a view where we (wife came along, she took most of the pictures) parked and hung out.
We were on the Natchez Trace just outside of Jackson Mississippi. Nice sign with some history for those that are interested
Here is a picture of the knives I brought out to play with. They are: Ka-bar 1217, buck 119, becker necker, Victorinox Tinker and Case Sodbuster I also had a 12" Ontario Machete, but i didnt take a pic of it
This is a little friend i made out in the woods. Needless to say when i looked down and saw this 7-8 inch critter crawling up my leg, i definately screamed. I assure you all that it was a manly scream though
So i cut down a small sapling to make a walking stick, my wife took several pics of me in the process of cleaning the bark off
And i found a piece of hard wood to try batonning. I will say now, this wood was very hard and i did not get all the way through it. It must be 100 degrees with 90%+ humidity, so yes thats my story and i am sticking to it
anyways, hope it wasnt too many pics. And i hope folks enjoy
