I have been playing with knives using thin G10 scales attached with copper harness rivits. This method was used on a lot of the throwing knives I used to see when I was younger hanging out at the Mt Man shoots. Figured if it held up to throwing, it would work for regular knives too :) Here is my latest. The design goes back a few years to a knife I made that was similar to Phill Hartsfield's Force Fighter. I love the overall shape and it works as a nice general purpose blade and as a mean fighter too. I used 1/4in thick 5160 for the blade and 5/32 thick green/black G10 for the scales. Makes for a thinner handle but it still fills the hand. This one is 11 1/8in overall with a 6 1/8in blade tip to handle.

Not to bum you out Bill as I am a hugh fan but why the brass rivits?

Overall I like the style and simplicity but doesnt have that I am done use me look I love about your knives.

Definitely different from the traditional "Siegle look" but it's growing on me. Actually, I really like the idea of the green scales, as eventually the copper will become camouflaged. :D

I could get behind it, though I think a lanyard hole is desperately trying to insert itself somewhere. Very nice, graceful flow to the design.

I used the copper rivits as they would not need to be finished and cause me to have to sand or file on the textured surface of the G10. Plus they are uber secure :) The small domed rivit heads also add a bit towards grip and indexing.

I left off the lanyard hole on this one but future blades in this style will have em. This is going to be a user for me for a while I think and although I do advocate lanyard use, I left it off this one as I envisioned it being more Fighter than Utility. Just my imagination running as I'd sooner run than fight :D

I am always up for trying new things and thanks for the feedback! Keep it up and as always - I enjoy your work

Ahah! There we diverge, but it's personal preference. I'm not a fan of switching grips being a part of fight training, simply because the fight won't last very long--one way or another somebody's going to lose (and most likely the other person is just going to lose slightly less ;) ) very quickly; so I'd rather have my little pinky lanyard anchoring my hand in place. Not arguing, you understand, just explaining my preferences for when you make mine. :D

The more I look at it, the more I like it.
