I have two Super 7's, but lately after shuffling things around I realized I did not have a standard 7 and ordered a CQC-7V in plain blade stone washed. Much to my surprise, it is quickly becoming my all time favorite Emerson.
I ordered it on a whim, as I like the brown scales & & LOVE Emerson's stone wash finish and I figured if I didn't really like it I could resell it easy enough.
That doesn't seem to be the case however. I immediately disassembled it & cleaned it out same as I do with ALL new Emerson knives, smoothed things a little and lubed it with Tri-Flow. It is smooth as glass now, locks up just as tight as my Large Sebenza (and it's a very early lock-up) and waves open easily.
The blade is perfectly centered & sharp as a straight razor. About the only thing I don't like about it is the stand-off's instead of the back spacer, but they will grow on me I'm sure.
I have nine different Emerson's at this point (including a Patriot sitting in Thailand awaiting some pimping) & I think this one & my Desert Roadhouse are quickly becoming my favorite EDC's.
