While ago I posted some pics of a mora inspired knife that Doug over at DP knives made for me..I've been wanting to do a review but have been set back by bad weather..today it was sleeting by me but I managed to drive up to the mountains where the precipitation was primarily in the form of snow.

Here's a shot of the knife from last time
PICT0015-17.jpg

Weather being what it was first order of buisness was getting a fire going
with most everything covered in snow and ice..the few bits of dead stnading dry wood that I could find... needed to be split

Great knife capable of hard work, and still hair popping sharp at the end....

a more thourough review will follow as time permits.

Wait until you see what he is bringing to this year's gathering at the end of July ... oh wait .... I wasn't supposed to let the cat out of the bag ... oopps >.>

j williams Thanks much, it is just what he wanted so I think it has fit his bill. Doug

I bought a camp knife from Doug last fall. My son stole it. :(

He dressed two deer in January with it, and carries it now every time he hunts. He says it is 'the bomb' on squirrels and rabbits as well.

Sorry I couldn't join you John. They closed my daughter's school do to the weather and Dad duty trumps woods play... I did leave you a message, not sure you got it.

Anyway, nice work and nice looking, hard working knife you got there:thumbup:

That's a neat looking little knife, I got a Mora #1 a few weeks ago and have been testing out the famed Scandi edge for a while now. It is pretty nice for woodwork.

That Filson hat looks like it's seen a couple hikes.

Bad weather is the best time to be in the woods, keeps the riffraff out!

Thanks for the kind words guys.. Thie knife is tops... as for the Filson hat.. that;s probably my most use dpiece of gear...
its; been a berry basket, a fire fanner a tinder collector..I think I might;ve even tried boiling water with heated stones once or twice in it...

That's a damn nice blade - I've been looking at some of his stuff for a while now. I just need some $ to come my way :)

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Heres another one of DP knives.

dboles,

It's a leanto in a statepark.. but some drunk idiots burned the floor for fire wood now its a graffiti laden house for broken alchohol bottles.. but its in a good spot..and allows for a legal fire...with only a short hike from the road.. so on days when I don;t have much time.. its a good place to go
