I confess to knowing close to Zero about traditional folders. I was wondering if there is such a thing as a large, single blade folder. If so, what are the different types referred to as? Example: I think one thing I have in mind is called a "Toothpick" but not sure if this is right. Are there others? What are some of the well known brands which have this kind of model in their lineup? Only one I know of is Case XX.

Thanks all.

When it comes to single bladed folders there are, slimline Trappers, Sodbusters, large Toothpicks, and folding hunters or at least thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

QUEEN Cutlery makes a nice 1 blade folder called the Mountain Man, I belive
/ is what they call it.
Its a good looking Knife.

This is my new CV Case Yellow Delrin Back Pocket. It would meet your needs nicely.

This is a GEC Tidioute Lockback with jigged Ruby Red bone handles.

There are also the Buck 110 and Buck 112 to consider too along with the Tooth Pick you mentioned and others.

Case also makes a Slimline Trapper.

How about a GEC "23" series knife. The one in this picture is a Northfield Yellow Rose of Texas, single 1095 blade, Slipjoint. It's 4 1/2" closed. That's pretty darn big in my book. It's pictured with a Sodbuster Jr. and a Tidioute (GEC) single blade lockback that is 3 1/2" closed.
GEC stands for Great Eastern Cutlery: http://greateasterncutlery.net/blog/

I like the full size Copperlock. The small is also pretty nice. There are a ton of good choices out there.

While small in comparison to some of the other knives shown, the Case Sodbuster Jr. shown by Stu is a solid worker and fills the bill of a large knife nicely.
