Hi All,

I need your help fellow kukri enthusiasts :)
Considering the ever growing number of pictures on my web site I've decided to set up more advanced image gallery. As usual the thing I was looking for, with exact features I wanted hasn't been yet developed, even if I was willing to pay money for it. Anyway, eventually I got coppermine 1.4, which is not finished product, but major features at least those I need seem to be working.

So. Here's the link to - Kukri Gallery. You can view albums, mainly kukris for now. Rate pictures, I'd be really interested to hear (or see) your opinions regarding that, what will get better ratings, etc. Comment on the pix ;)
There are some other features, like favorite pix, ecards, search(which I got working after minor code tweaking), but still might be bugs here and there.

If you have any wishes, comments, improvement ideas, feature requests please post them here in this thread. All that will be highly appreciated.

Nice pics!
I haven't had the time to view them all or leave any comments but it's quite a nice gallery.

Nice gallery, Gator. The features are neat and all seem to have their uses(Although I must admit, I've only used the rating buttons so far.), the design is nice, and even though it may seem like an insignificant detail to some, the color scheme is excellent. After browsing standard white websites for a while, your eyes can begin to feel as if you've been staring into the sun for an hour or two.

The pictures, as well as the knives, are all superb. So far, my favorite would have to be the 20" Sirupati(File 7/10). That's a great perspective, and the knife itself is just...beautiful. Nice work.

Gator?

Beautifully done! A well-organized, marvelously shot, and very coherent site.

(I couldn't help but notice you have serious gaps in your collection! You NEED a 15inch Bura AK and a 12inch Shanker AK--users, of course. THEN it would be perfect and make you happier than you have ever been before, and maybe even more handsome and sexier...maybe.)

Justathought. Oh, and I know of a guy who has just the thing!

Beautiful work as always Gator. You have Mastered the art of knife photography using no additional light!:D
However I would like to see the pix in a somewhat smaller format so as to fit a 1024 X 768 screen size. Too me it takes away from the experience in having to scroll up and down and sideways to see the whole pic of the knife.:)
Another thing I would love to see is a pic or pix of each knife straight on so as to not have any distortion in order to get the true picture of what each knife looks like.
That may be impossible without any additional lighting though and I for one sure don't know.
I would just like to have your talent for taking such beautiful pictures!!!!:D  :D

Looks great to me, in more ways than one. I'm in awe (and envious) of your photography skills. You have a real talent for it.

You have mail. :D

Thank you all for helping out and kind words :)
Yvsa, originally I was doing pix @ 1014x768, but later on after getting requests for higher resolution pix especially for desktop wallpapers I switched to 1280x1024. Because of the space limitations I can't put both resolutions on the web now :( Other reason is that modern browsers can resize images to fit the screen more or less nicely and since downsizing is less damaging I figured it was ok.

As for the straight angle pictures, I do try to have at least 1-2 shots for every knife like that. The rest is "artistic" more or less, otherwise it'd be boring. Anyway, if some blades are missing those kind of pix I'd be more than happy to add.

Kismet - My most used kukri is 18" AK :D So, by now 15 AK seems kindda smal, I do have 12 18 and 20 so I feel covered in the area, althogh I'm always looking for the new specimen for my collection ;)
