Hey guys, I've been curious about something for a while so I decided to make an account and ask...

Are the knives like the Maxamet Manix and the Cruwear Knifecenter exclusive considered "sprint runs," or are they just production knives that will stick around for a while?

I'm basically just wondering if I should be trying to snag them ASAP before they're gone forever, or if they will be around for a while.

Thanks guys!

The maxamet Manix is a sprint run from Spyderco. GET IT! It's awesome!

The CF Manix Cruwear is dealer exclusive. Less thought after, only knife center has them and it's up to them how many to order and if there will be subsequent orders.

Manufacture sprint runs are single production run, once they are gone they are gone.

I believe the Maxamet Manix (along with the other upcoming maxamet models) are slated to be regular production. How long they actually stay around will depend on sales obviously but I was under the impression that they were NOT sprint runs.

Dealer exclusives are not sprint runs. When the dealer runs out, they can (and usually do) contact spyderco and produce more. There is no limit to how many can be bade and sold.

Awesome, great info! Thanks guys, that makes me feel better. When I was big into knives many years ago, it was considered *amazing* to get a knife in S90V.

Now we have regular production knives in S110V, Maxamet, Cruwear, etc? Wow! This is pretty neat!

Just placed an order for the Maxamet Manix, hopefully I can get the Cruwear one soon. I still love and carry my Tan/M4 Manix from circa 2009. Love the manix!

Maxamet is not easy to work with as far as what ZT has mentioned. i assume the same goes for spyderco?

if thats the case some time in the future they may decide that its not worth the trouble, but that may all depend on sales too. Spyderco/Sal/Eric would have the best answer for the question.

i thought that the Maxamet would rust, but someone on instagram caked a layer of salt on the blade and left it on the blade and it only got a slight patina. so im thinking i may pick one up sooner than later.

the maxamet native 5 hasnt released yet iirc, i was thinking about getting one of those instead when it does. kinda un-decided yet. heard the native5 can be taken apart where as the manix2 cannot, but since its not released yet, unsure.
