I am looking to purchase one of these knives for EDC. I am looking for something light which can sit in my pocket (as opposed to clipped) in a business suit, as needed. Also hoping the Mayo has some defensive value. (I know the Dominator does)
Please advise - and a direct comparison photo would be great. thank you.

Both are about as good as it gets and both can serve utility and defensive uses. Personally, I think that the Dominator is a better fighter and the Buck/Mayo a better user. The Dominator has the flipper/finger guard while the Buck/Mayo has a blade that cuts with the best of them (probably because it is "the best of them"). I think that the Bos heat treat of the Buck/Mayo might be the difference in blade quality although don't quote me.
Ideally, one of each would serve anyone quite will. Since utility happens much more often than defense I'd give the slight nod to the Buck/Mayo.

I have a Dominator and have handled the Buck/Mayo. The Dominator is deffinetly better from a defecnsive standpoint. Large, assisted opening flipper that acts as a great finger guard, and a nice blade shape. The Buck/Mayo on the other hand is a classy, smaller knife perfectly suited for standard EDC tasks. If I wanted something primarily for defenze, get the Dom. For primarily standard EDC, could go either way depending on what style you prefer. The Dom is usally a little cheaper then the Mayo as well, but that Mayo sure is a nice looking knife. I might have to get me one of them someday.

Thanks for your replies. I am looking for something larger than the EDC, and the Mayo seems the same size. I also like the robo assist, and the looks of the Dom. better, and its $50 less. Unless anyone has other comments, I think I will get the Dom.
Thanks again
