For the holidays, my Wife wants to know which I want. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Becker 16, and was going to either try the 15 or 17. Then I saw the Ontario RD4. Blade profile is sexy, but handles look like a brick. The RD4 is also heavier vs. the Beckers.

For anyone who owns both, and has used both, which fixed blade should I get here? Also throw in any input on the Tak-1 from Ontario, as this looks like a slimmer handle, but thinner blade?

Also, what makes the Night Stalker 4 different from the RD4? I can't tell. Thanks.

Ontario RD4 is a TANK of a knife. 1/4" thick, full width, full tang with extended pommel. Ontario Night Stalker 4 is identical, except it has a recurve blade. They are night & day different from the tweeners. BK15, 16, 17 are medium duty in size & use but made exceptionally well. If you have the 16 already, then you know what i mean. (full width, full tang with extended pommel. You cant go wrong with the Ontario if you want a very HD small-ish knife. If you jump to the Ontario "Bush" series, they are similar but are 3/16" thick. You also can't go wrong with any Tweener. You owe it to your wife or gf, to get a BK5/BK15 combo for the kitchen. They are AWESOME !!!

LOL Guess i didn't help much in your choice !!! :D

You did actually. I really think I'm going to pull the ticket on the RD4, a few more questions - does the sheath have an extra pocket for multitool or fire starter? Also, is it comfortable to carry, not to heavy?

I want the Becker kitchen knives for her. They look amazing.
