BladeHQ has put out some info on this kind of thing based on their sales, but, you’re likely to get something like a distinct top 2 or 3 and everything past that is probably going to be a close call.

Also, you’re going to get some crazy bias based on the small audience being polled (not everyone goes to General), the tendency for bandwagoning, and the vast majority of users just not wanting to participate.

Also, if you make a predetermined list of the “best known” folders, you have already heavily skewed the data by omitting countless knives from even being considered. What about the Kershaw Leek? Spyderco Techno? Cold Steel isn’t even on the list? The Benchmade full-size Griptilian has a billion variants but gets one all-encompassing entry when the Sebenzas and Spydercos get several per model?

The results of the data are 100% guaranteed to be (1) Paramiltary 2 and then (2-5) total crapshoot of unreliable and nonrepresentative data.

Sorry, don’t mean to crap on your idea. Bad statistics just bother me, and I know this is just a fun thing.
