Please don't tell me its over 28 cm (11.2") ...the MAXX I mean

Hi Will,

Please don't tell me the MAXX is opened bigger then 11.2" (28 cm) as this is the legal upper limit for folding knives in Holland, if you have one that's longer you could just as well carry a pound of coke with you.

If it is fractionally longer and I hope it's not, could it lose that "fraction" without problems to make it legal in Holland?

Bagheera, I think it is flirting with that 11.2" limit. It is awfully close to it. Blade is 5 1/2" long and the handle is a little bit longer than that.
 
You could probably shorten it and turn it into a wicked tanto! ;)

Don't worry about the size too much. When you buy one, have it sent to Cliff Stamp first, and I'm sure he'll be able to figure-out how to break an inch or so off of it for you to make it legal.:D.

Actually, I'm pretty anxious to get my hands on one. Since it's a Camillus product, it should be "top-notch".

Mo only does that sort of thing with customs. He is a high $$$ tip buster. :D
 
Don - if Mo is like that, he should be looking at those big knives made by two dudes in San Marcos, CA ;)

Bagheera, according to the page on 1 Stop Knife Shop, the open overall length of the MAXX is 12 inches. :( (for you, that is)

I had one in my hand ! I measured it ! Your out of luck !
Mad Maxx 5.5 is 11.5 inches open.

Thanks (%$£*&@@^£%$) now my only hope is that Will will make a one off version that measures 11.2" overall ;)
OR I could just get one and behave normally as a good citizen and hope for the best when I'm using it to eat an apple;)

I don't like Tanto points and don't reaguarly go about using knives as a pry-bar.

Hey. How about a reverse tanto?!

Just kidding around, anyway. Its a shame that the Camillus version is illegal for you... that pretty much limits you to a custom version from Darrel. Bummer. ;) Sounds like the perfect excuse.
