Please elaborate on this prototype

Mr Becker ( or other) ; could you please tell me what this knife is , and if and when it would go into production ? It looks like a very interesting knife , and the handles look like micarta to me. Would be great in the bush. :D

Fixed the link for you. I think there was talk of this in a previous thread. Not sure which i'll check it out.

Hi, hiwa,

I assume that you're talking about the recurve on the desk? All I can tell you is that it's a prototype, along with most of the others in that shot. Ethan or Toooj (and possibly Bladite) might be able to tell you more.

From what I've been able to pick up, whichever ones are going to be released will probably be released after the Blade show. I know that Ethan has talked about the "tweeners" (sized between the BK-11 and the BK-2), so we know they're coming out.

Yeah, the handles do look like micarta, don't they? Remember, though, that the ones in the photo are prototypes, and may be subject to change.

No, I can say with total confidence, that you're not. Several people have asked about that recurve already.

I just can't tell you any more, other than I'm waiting, too.
 
honestly i hope they dont come with the micarta....bring on the "booos" and "hiss"

Why would we boo and hiss? Some people like micarta grips, some like grivory. It's kinda a vanilla vs chocolate thing; people have different tastes.

Personally, I like both, so I'm in good shape.:D
 
i like both also, but honestly i'd be REALLY tickled if they could keep the new knife under $50.....i guess i didnt expect "boos" but some people (not anyone here btw) seem to get caught up in looks above function. i realize thats not the Becker way, so i'm hoping for grivory:D

Becker knives work for a living. That's the motto, that's the reality. I think they have a beauty all their own, but they're not safe queens.

Buy 'em, use 'em, be happy!
