Here's my finished "Modern Nessmuk". It has a 6 1/4" blade of 1/4" thick O-1 with a fully tapered tang. The handle is Arizona Ironwood secured with 3 all brass Loveless type bolts and brass pins & lanyrd tube. The knife was finished to 1500 grit and rubbed out with a Scotchbrite pad. The spine is fully rounded over. The knife was differentially heat treated. This was my first knife of this size, my first tapered tang, my first wood handle, and my first knife at 1/4" thick. Please let me know what you think.

I love the handle, the combination of the brass pins both the small ones and the Loveless style looks awsome on that beautiful chunk of ironwood. I am normally not a fan of this style knife, but I really like this one.

One thing though, it looks like from the pictures that hardly any of the blade in the center is hardened, was that intentional?

Kyle,
I think that's just a reflection on the blade. The whole edge was quenched but you can't see that because I didn't etch the blade.
Thanks for all the kind words guys.

Sorry about the red "X's". The pictures should be back up soon. Angelfire keeps suspending me because of excessive bandwidth consumtion. This is the 3rd free picture host I've tried, I think they're all the same.
