......left-handed versions???? experts & lefties help me out.

i only like the good stuff, & i'm hoping they consider the ten-percenters of the world.

holler with your list. thanks.

Spyderco FRN models are leftie friendly. I've carried my FRN/SE Endura 24/7 for the last year(christmas gift in early december).

the chinook 2, atr, some of the alum salsa(I had 3 here, 1 wasn't ambi), kiwi(obviously, same with ladybug and jester)), dodo might be...

totally ambi and it was designed for MBC. MUCH stronger than it would appear. It's discontinued but you should be able to find one if you look around. I like mine very much. Spyderco and Benchmade both have a pretty good ambi line-up, as well as SOG.

Benchmades that utilize the Axis are very lefty friendly, except the BM770. It has no option to switch the clip. Most of the new Spydercos can be switched to lefty. Of course, you can always buy a lefty Sebenza.

Johnny Stout made me a beautiful left-handed Second Generation Tactical. RJ Martin sometimes does left handed folders as do other well known custom makers.

Sabenza is very lefty friendly, as they always seem to ship a few out to dealers.

Benchmade Axis-lock models:
710 McHenry and Williams
721 Pardue
722 Pardue
730 Ares
735 Ares
550 Griptilian
806 AFCK

Any Benchmade Bali-song.

As far as I know most of the folders come with ambidextrous thumd studs/hole these days, as a result they can be opened easily by either hand. So basically all u have to do is to pick your own favourite brand. As for one hand closing, I found no problem with closing a lock back with either hand, but if it is a liner-lock then you might find it a little bit difficult when u attempt to close the blade with the left hand.

hopefully my fave brands have the option to switch the clip to the other side, or have models with the clip prefastened to the lefty side..... it's annoying as shit to have that extra step of flipping the knife over before deployment when the clip isn't on the correct side for lefties.

Hi Anon:

The CRKT Grant Hawk DOG is very comfortable for a leftie (speaking as one), and extremely solid. Value for money is excellent.

I second the comments on AXIS and balis.

Regardless, there are no substitutes for feeling the balance in hand, and the geometry of the opening action. I've found this to be especially true for some (supposedly) leftie-friendly liner-locks. True-left LLs are another story.

Best regards

Hi Anon,

Interesting point regarding the clip. Personally for the folders I own I would just take the side they put the clip on as the way they are, as I don't really feel the clip is getting in my way when I hold the knife, on either hand. Like the Emesrson/SOG, I can handle them with both hands with ease, though their clips are affixed on one "designated" side. I think that what really bugs me most would be the linerlock, I always find it less smooth to close it with my left hand. Well, maybe a bit more time of practicing would fix that. So for the selection of "lefties friendy" folders, I think that u should concern more on the folders' locking platform, liner locks could be a pain to operate with a left hand.

Large left hand Sebenza. I like to support CRK because they are the only high end production company that carries left hand knives on a regular basis. I beleive their quality is better than many custom makers. Yep large Sebby, it doesn't get much better.  ;) :p
