Please help Blade steel

Hello im new here and i cant seem to get the search function to work i keep getting 404 error msg so i thought i would ask here im wanting to make a hunting knife and was wondering what kinda steel to use i know nothing about tempering metal i do like the Chris Reeves knifes made outa A2 but i was wondering about a more comming metal like truck springs or is there any other comming steel that would work better

have you made any knives before at all?? Do you plan to forge or do stock removal?? Have you read any books on the subject??
