Hi all,

For the life of me, I can NOT figure out the year of my :

CASE XX
USA
.

(This appears on one side of Clip point blade).

Please note, I have visited half a dozen Case sites showing the supposed year(s).
I HAD thought, this knife was a circa 1965-1969 model year however, that year is stamped as follows :

CASE XX
U.S.A.

As shown in this (borrowed photo) :
s-l1600.jpg

The second blade on my knife is marked as follows :

6265-SAB .

I don't know if the "Jigged" handle is Wood, Laminated Wood or Bone.

Thanks for any help/information provided.

Regards,

HARDBALL

The 6 tells you that the handle is either jigged bone, jigged delrin, or jigged laminated wood. The 2 is the number of blades. The other numbers are the pattern number. The tang stamp, if I am reading your first post correctly, has a single dot under the other markings. If that is correct, it should be a 1979 according to the guide I consulted.

Try moving this to the trad knives forum. If you contact a mod politely they are friendly and helpful and will sort it out for you. Best chance of answering your question.

EDIT: ninja’d by Jove!

Hello,

Thanks Pope for your help. I too have consulted several CASE I.D. sites and I understand the (#6) "jigged" part and the (#2) "two" blade part,
however, it's the "year" information I still find confusing/misleading. That is to say, I've yet to find a site/information that explains my knife USA
(with one dot under the S) as opposed to (listed in the above borrowed photo) depicting the mark as U.S.A. in other words (U dot S dot A dot) which
would make the years of manufacture 1965 to 1969. Thank you Pilsner. I may do as suggested.

Regards,
HARDBALL
