Hi there,

My father-in-law just passed away and we found this Buck Lockback knife in his dresser drawer. We would really appreciate any help in identifying it. We have done a little research – it appears it might be a limited edition 112. The problem is that there is no model number imprinted onto the knife:

The ‘anvil’ logo suggests it was produced in 2002.
The blade is 3 inches long – the same as a 112.
The knife closed is 4 1/4 inches long – same as a 112.
The blade and bolsters display a silver colored mirrored material.
There is a 159 / 200 engraving in the blade.

Is the handle material Brown Elk Horn?
Your help is appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

Welcome! :)

I copied this thread to the BUCK KNIVES forum. You can monitor or subscribe to the copy, as well as to this original.

The handles are some sort of stag (antler) but I don't know which species.

There are folks who 'customize' ltd editions of buck and other factory knives. That might be what this is. I don't know.

BRL...

Sorry for your loss, Keep that great knife and enjoy it!
Its not a "customized Buck" It is a limited edition offered from the factory.
I am unsure of the model # but my guess is its along the lines of the 500 series like this one... http://www.buckknives.com/catalog/detail/534/235
Someone with more knowledge will be along shortly ;)

Whoops, it looks like someone with more knowledge already posted in the duplicate copy thread. Thanks Buckman ;)

Thanks to all who have responded (so far)!!! I do not see Buckman's response. Where is this duplicate copy thread located? I can not seem to find it. I would really appreciate the URL :-]
