please help identify a german dagger with olympic rings

Hi
want to bring this bttt with some new info from Sweden,
a guy from Sweden mailed me a pic of a Fahrtenmesser with the same olympic rings.

Maybe after more than 2Y there is more news about this knives

The Wingen Knife looks similar to a Hitler Youth type Knife. I'd also guess it was a 1936 Olympic Commemorative. I just got a book on edged weapons of Nazi Germany, I'll have a look tonight and see if I can find any information.

Well, I looked in my book last night and found out that the diamond style fleur de lis shape inset into the handle is found on Hitler youth knives, although it usually contains Nazi party symbols. These first went into production in 1933. I haven't seen any with dagger style blades, but the majority of them look similar to the Fahrtenmesser style. I would guess these were a special batch produced for the 1936 Olympics, maybe for members of the Hitler Youth battlions that attended, or maybe served in some capacity there ( security?, concessions?). Sorry I don't have any more information than that. You might try searching some of the online auction houses such as Butterfield and Butterfield. Occassionally I get good results doing that.
