I purchased this knife in 1967, no sheath, papers or box, used. I looked at the 110 timeline and I am having a hard time deciding which version it is. The "Buck" on the blade is 4 letters and that is all. Definitely has no dot. It almost looks hand-struck as the "B" is not well defined. The spacer on the butt appears to be part of a side as I can only see a single line. I can only see a single rivet and it is for the blade pivot - none on the butt. It is much thinner than my newer 110's and only weighs in at a 5.5 ounces. My newer ones are close to two ounces heavier. Any help on placing the version to it would be greatly appreciated. I showed it on the SPS but I am re-posting here looking for help.

I vote for 3rd Version Variation 1. I think you do have a dot, it's at the end of the upper arm of the K, where it should be.
Sometimes the stamp isn't perfectly square to the blade it ends up deeper on one side and lighter than the other. In your case
you have a deep dark B and a very light dot.

Far from an expert but I agree the dot is there which is right on for the 67. I'm learning hopefully.

yes this looks exactly like my first folding hunter I bought in 67!!
grew legs and walked off ...
but I replaced it soon enough!
some place I have it,,, or the 3ed or 4th one I bought...
dang surenugh get'n harder to remember some o dem things dat happened ...
but I had . oh yes ..lol ... fried eggs for breakfast!

OK, I am going to back up. I dug out a 30X loupe and my 70 year old eyes had lied to me. There is a dot there. I thought it was just a blemish after it was pointed out as such. The loupe showed otherwise. LOL Thanks guys for the help.

Hi,
I've had that dark B on a few 110's if you look at it under magnification it looks like lines behind the open spots in the B if it's the same as the ones that I've had, I think the stamp bottomed out. It looks like your brass rocker rivet is worn giving the knife a bad blade back angle, see if the knife has blade play when it's locked open it will be open and close play not blade wobble, I also had one where the rocker bar was bent and sanded flat hiding the bend, that allowed the blade to open too far giving the knife a bad blade back angle, the good news is it's easy to fix.
George God bless P/S sure looks like a ver.3 var.1

Hi,
I did what I should have done first " I read your entire post" someone has buffed the pins in, you have to look very close to see them, sometimes you will only see a part of a circle like a crescent scratch, or just wait a few months they will show back up sometimes, all the early ver.3 110's that I've had have a thin forged frame like yours I think that's normal I have a vre.3 var.8 it's in for repair now I'm curious I'll see how it compares to a version 4 it seems like the brass got thicker on the version 4, maybe they were thicker on the late version3 we'll see.
George God bless
