Ok first time poster here so I hope I am posting in the right area and this is also my first attempt to create a post with pictures, so I hope everything works ok.

I have a bayonet that has been in the family ever since I was a kid. I have no idea what it's age is or from where it originated. If I remember right it came from my grandfather who was a merchant marine. So it could be from anywhere. Mom and Dad are both gone now so I have no one to fill in it's history for me.

It is 25" long overall. It has 4 sides. It has a a spring loaded button that rotates a latching locking tab to connect to whatever rifle it was made for. It has a metal sheath. There are some markings on it. The finger loop has "7532-6" stamped in it. There are some other marks as well. One is a stylized letter H in the handle groove. There is a puncture in the handle that I have no idea on how it happened.

That's all I know about it, other than I would really not want to be the unfortunate soul that got ran through by one of these things.

Anybody recognize this bayonet? Any info would be much appreciated.

Thank you
