Picked this up from a flea market today in Nashville. Thought it was too cool to pass up.

The handle is not the typical KA-BAR style, so maybe it's a fake, maybe it's been re-handled?

The leather strapping on the handle is rock hard so it has some age and wear to it.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

So imgur like for pics. http://imgur.com/a/aMhzZ

That looks like it is just an old used and abused Kabar USMC knife. I hope you didn't pay more than two bucks for it.

Late WW2 KA-BAR. Looks like the handle was in pretty worn condition before someone bubba'd it up further.

That looks like a WWII blade. However, the handle looks off. It looks like someone made an attempt to modify or replace the original and didn't finish the job. Regardless of the handle, you got yourself a nice piece of history. Enjoy.

Anyone know if it's possible to recondition a handle that's that far gone?

This specific example has the 1/4" pommel held on with a though pin. As far as the various knives are constructed this would be the easiest type to disassemble. Still that's work I'd recommend left to someone who has experience doing so. New leather washers can be had from several sources. As far as the results go that's dependent on a bunch of variables pretty hard to address well on a forum. Can it be done?, yes. How it's going to turn out depends on who's doing the work.
