You do realize that your description is incredibly vague...so vague that I'm surprised I'm even responding. If you want help identifying knives the first, and most important, step is posting a few good pictures of them.

You gotta do this if you want your knives identified.

( Yes I originally posted it for axes, but it applies to everything )

As a registered user, you can post pictures using a picture hosting site. I use Imgur, but there are others. Once you have uploaded a picture, copy the web address. Then go to your post and click the image tool on the toolbar next to the smiley tool. Paste the picture address into the resulting popup. Then click the INSERT button. Note: picture web addresses must end in .jpg or .gif

A comprehensive guide to using Imgur can be found in this thread:

This one was posted on another board. The sheath is Chinese, and I would put the knife made there also.

That is indeed a sharp woohoo.
In my opinion It looks to be a DIY knife kit knife someone put together.

That indeed is the exact same knife and sheath now not asking value but quality? Such as type of steel name of maker type of knife any idea as I can dona little more research?

There is no way to determine blade alloy from looking at a picture.
If tltt says it is of Chinese manufacture, I would believe him.
There are good knives made in China, but they normally are marked with the manufacturer name.
There are many random knives made in China. They usually are not marked with the manufacturer name.

I would guess that if it is made in China it's very likely from the same factory as Elk Ridge knives as they offer some very similar ones.

If they're not telling you what kind of steel it is, it's probably not worth knowing but I'm sure the knife is useable.
Me and my brother had loads of Chinese cheapos as kids and the blades got the job done, the folders would fall apart while the fixed blades held up just fine.
I rehandled a cheap hunter for my brother as a teenager and he still keeps it in his tackle box and uses the crap out of it.
It looks horrible now, but still cuts.

Yes, Elk Ridge, Timber Rattler, Frost Cutlery's more expensive Chinese lines, early Rough Riders have made knives of similar quality over the last 10 - 15 years. If I had to guess on steel type, I'd bet on 440A or similar.
