Please help me date my 'new' 110

Howdy!
I have a new 110. The blade is marked:
BUCK
110
U.S.A.

Other side of blade is unmarked.

No year code, so I cannot figure it out, myself.

Is it an older vintage pre-1974 or brand new?

In January 2008 some Buck knives, especially some 110's got out of the factory without the 2008 date code.
 
This is an old one.
When I said new, I meant new to my household.
I would think pre-1974, but that's a guess on my part. The lack of blade codes is making identification difficult.
I think it's the oldest one in my collection, at this point.
I cannot find anything online about the blade markings (or lack of them) that mine has.

That does not open on my computer....
So sad.....

I think mine is a 1973, as I am under the impression that dots were added as of 1974, and mine has no dots.
I also believe that the model number was added in 1973, which also leads me to the same conclusion.
 
Apparently I have a variation 3, fifth version. My 1973 guess seems to be accurate.
