I love both the Marbles Trailmaker knife and the Linder Crocodile Bowie, but I do not know which to go with.

Does anyone have any experience with either?

Also, I just received my Benchmade Griptilian today and I am loving it:thumbup:

Man you cant go wrong with Marbles knives.

Get the Marbles man....I'm just not really familiar with Linder knives, or their reputation/quality/customer service/materials. Marbles has been around a hell of a long time, and alot of hunters and outdoorsmen swear by their products.

Marbles is the better knife, better steel stronger and made in Michigan!

Thanks for the info. Once again, more great advice!!

I found the knife on Bladematrix and the Knife Outlet. Does anyone know of a better site to shop at?

Blade Magazine once did a comparison test between several large American factory made bowies, including the Marbles Trailmaker. The Linder knife was not included in the test.

Among the US made bowies, the Marbles Trailmaker was the clear winner. I have one myself, and my only complaint is that the Trailmaker has a very large handle suitable for people with hands bigger than my own.

The test also did not include the similarly priced Swamp Rat Battle Rat, which many would argue is the best US made knife in that category/price range. I own a Battle Rat but like the Marbles Trailmaker better, myself. The Battle Rat is excessively blade heavy to me.

Bladematrix seems to have about the lowest prices on knives. This is because they do not keep many knives in stock, so you will have to wait maybe two or three days longer to recieve a knife from Bladematrix. I doubt you will find a lower price, and unless you need really fast delivery, I would suggest ordering from Bladematrix, based on my past experience with that dealer. The extra delay was small and worth the savings in my case.

Usually, I also order from Bladematrix. However, they have the Marbles Trail Maker with the stacked leather handle instead of the curly oak. However, in your opinion, do you think the stacked leather handle will hold up better than the wood? This will be a using knife.

Thanks.
