Well it's getting close to delivery time for my first XM-24. I've ordered a bronze anodized non-flipper with olive scales but I'm torn inside because I really like the looks of black and blue ano' too. I'm even torn about whether I should actually go with a flipper instead.

Please share your thoughts. What do you think? Black or olive? Bronze or blue anodizing? Flipper/non~flipper?!? HELP! Time is short!

HA! you got hooked...great knives huh? I'm a non-flipper guy especially when a knife is as smooth as these. that little fliper takes up to much space when I'm reaching in the pocket. Black scales look good to me. anodizing should always be blue IMO. Ready for LEAP pay? its coming :)

HA HA! Yeah you are definately partly to blame for all this pal! I hope you're satisfied. I've been carrying my non-flipper Olive scaled XM-18 every single day since the day it arrived and absolutely love it. The bottom corners where it rides in my uniform pockets are all shredded. Can't wait 'till my 24 arrives. Even more to love!

And oh yeah, I've been hearing about the LEAP rumors for a long time. Even more of an excuse to get one in now while we can. . . ;)

The only production XM-24s that have been made have been flippers. Which would be my choice anyway. I also like the bronze over blue anodizing, but that is all just personal preference.

Thanks Moto, I did not know that. No need for second guessing on that then.

This batch will have flipper and non-flipper XM-24's, if I'm not mistaken,,, I'm goign with a flipper model 'cause I like the way the flipper becomes a handguard in open position,,,

I dislike them for the same reasons as stated by Jason. The protruding tab takes up extra space in my pocket. But they do look cool when open. :)

i like the exact config on my 3 XM.
3", non flipper, 3.5 and 4" flipper.
you command more blade, you need more security.
i dont know many people not clipping the 3.5 and up. so, i think the flipper guard is not that big of a problem.
but the 3", i like it non-flipper style. less is more with the 3".

how are you guys able to place orders for XM-24s? are you active military? or did you have an order placed way back when?

We're kinda active :) Rick is kind enough to support the boys on the front lines at home. We kinda beat stuff up and need his super tough blades...they work..

It'll stay as ordered. I got an e-mail from Rob telling me the knife was built and waiting for Rick to sharpen it. I weakened at the last minute and tried to change it to blue and black but now I'm glad it was too late. Green and Bronze will make for a nice combo.

Really psyched about this one. Shouldn't be much longer.

Rob,

I apologize if you got multiple e-mails. Not sure what the hell's going on with my phone.

You'll definitely have to show us that one when you get it!! I ordered mine today. XM-24 with orange scales. This will be my first Hinderer, but probably not my last. The bad thing is with the shipping estimate it will come while I am at a work conference for a week. (I'll be on Jekyll Island so it won't be all that bad.)

And I agree about the coolness of Jason's pic....

Thanks for the comps on the photo guys. Looking forward to pictures of the knife. I wish I could save for a 24! I need to sell some stuff :)

I'm waiting on a Rick Hinderer XM-24 Flipper, S35VN, Carbon-Fiber Scale... I should have it Tuesday. I's only my 2nd Hinderer. I really like the Flipper. I have an XM-18 that fits my hand perfectly. Good luck to you.

Great pic as always Jason; and I will post pics of my own after I get it, it may just be a while though. I'm going to Harper's Ferry next week and won't be back till the end of the month.

I just hope my knife and the new Investigator pen I just ordered arrive before Sunday (my travel day).

WOO HOO!! Just got my shipment notification. The knife is on its way!! Hopefully my pen is in there also. It's gonna be a long couple a days 'till it get's here. . . :(:D
