I'm looking to buy a new EDC.

My needs for an EDC is fairly mild. I use my pocket knives often, but for tasks along the lines of cutting open boxes, packages, tape, plastic bindings, and whatever else I find as an excuse to bring it out.
I want a knife that has good steel and holds an edge, has a strong lock, and feels good in the hand.
I also want to mention that I live in Los Angeles so a 3in blade is what I'm looking for.

Here's what I'm considering so far, just can't make up my mind.

Manix 2
Sage 1, 2, or 3
Native 5
Delica 4
Gayle Bradley
Or any others you might suggest

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sage 3

Scary sharp blade, great ergonomics, a solid locking mechanism and it's blue G-10 handle is very pleasing to the eye. Won't frighten the sheeple.

I just looked at the sage 4. It looks very nice.

Oh and for the record. I own one other spydie. It's a Bob T. Slipit.
I bought it new second hand for $75 and it started this itch I now have to get another.

Also, I must add that I looked at a Sage 1 today and it felt great in my hand minus the way the liner lock felt when gripped.

I've been considering this one. Blue is my fav color so that works for me.
Making my mind up on this one has been tuff.

The Sage 3 is the smoothest Spydie own. I love the blue g10 as well. Really though, any of the Sages are good. It just depends what type of lock and handle material you prefer. Let me throw the Delica ZDP-189 out there as well. Very impressive steel and definitely a classic Spyderco platform.

Well I'm definitely leaning towards a Sage.
The delica does feel really nice in the hand. I just like the little bit more heft I get from the Sage

Dragonfly2. I wouldn't classify it as a hard use knife, but its a great lockback folder and its lightweight. Plus, it is pure Spyderco with that great leaf shaped blade and affords a solid purchase. Full flat grind, VG10 edc for around $50. For a little more, it can even be had in zdp-189. While not having steel liners does sacrifice strength, it also just disappears when its clipped due to its low weight. It is THE most under rated Spyderco out there IMO.

The Sage 2 or 3 are excellent choices. The Native 5 would be another I'd check out.

So this has been so much harder than I could have ever imagined....! I am finding it so difficult to pick a knife I'll be completely satisfied with. In the end, I'm not extremely concerned with getting in trouble with a blade being a little over 3in, and after reading, and looking, I think I'm going to end up going with a para2. Is this a solid choice? I really appreciate those who have chimed in. Thank you

If you're going to go for a 3"+ blade, the Para 2 is an excellent choice. I think it's ideal in that it's not too big & not too small.

Congrats.
