Hello all - yes I am a total rookie in here!

I have been searching the last 3 months for my future knife.

What I have learned about my dreams is the following:

1: I love the satin finish and therefore not a big fan of coating.
2: I would like a knife between 12 and 16 cm ish. (4.7 - 6.29 converted into inches)
3: I want a knife with the double finger choil for control
4: I want something with kydex sheath.
5: I am in doubt on pros and cons on handles - but I know I like either G10 or Micarta.
6: I want a drop point
7: An emergency hammer at the bottom would be nice.
8: (This should have been number 1!!!) A full tang.

Here is the kniveshapes I am searching for but also my worries:

GSO 5.1 seems PERFECT - but after lurking around in here I am totally thrown by their way of business a long with their way og working - BUT to be honest that 5.1 version meets all of my dreams.

TRC Apocalypse - also a beaty - but I am positive that the blade is too long for me and what I would like to use it for.

I also like the Bear Grylls Ultimate PRO - but I already have the first version and a clip point Gator. Therefore I would like something else.

SO PLEASE Blade Forum - Do you experts know any alternatives out there for me?

(PS: I hope I have posted the correct place - BUT I am SO sorry if I messed up)

Best Regards Michael

12 and 16cm? If you're just going to make stuff up I don't see how we can help you.

What does "cm" even stand for? Crunch measurements? Is that it? How many pieces of Captain Crunch can it split between sharpenings?

Just get a smatchet.

Really?

And I would look at Bradfords. TRC are good too, being a Norseman you could also look at Fallkniven. Although given that Millet took over the work for GSO, you might as well get your perfect knife if it fits all their criteria, if people support brands like Strider and DDR, buying a Millet made 5.1 seems like it's not so bad...

I don’t own one but I’ve handled a few White River knives at various shows. I believe they check the majority of your boxes.

I’ll throw another shout out for either a Bradford or White River. Both should have something that fits the bill in your price range.

This knife doesn't hit all your marks, but the Cold Steel SRK in San Mia steel (VG 10 core and edge with 2 slabs of 420j2 on the outside for extra toughness and corrosion resistance). I have this knife and it's a great value for a lot of knife. Tough, great rust resistance, good edge retention and has a beautiful polished satin finish. A great all around knife IMHO. The handle material is Kray-X, which wasn't one of your preferences, but it's very grippy, comfortable and durable. I payed $115 which is a deal to equally comparable knives that are much more pricey. Actually for that price I think it's one of the best deals in the knife world. Go ahead and check it out for yourself and the reviews, you'll see more of what I'm talking about.

White River GTI 4.5 and Viper Borr are close. You could strip the coating on the WR and the blade length on both falls a little short.

Swamp Rat Ratmandu CG is close too. You could ask for the blade not to be coated. Plenty of room in the budget for a kydex sheath. Just missing the hammer butt (yep I said it).

Like Ajack said, you could probably find a maker here on the forum that could tweak one of their designs and get everything you wanted.

Thank you b00n - I will check Bradford out first.
