Around 1980 my Grand Pa gave me this knife. I was 10 and didn't realize just how special a gift this was. I'm 46 now and my Grand Pa has been gone for a number of years. My youngest Son was at my Dad's house today and he remembered his Dad giving me this as a kid. My Son is coming to visit for the 4th of July and he is driving it to Virginia for me. I am very excited to have it back. This picture is the first time I have seen it since around 1980. Also my Dad sent me this arrow head board my Grand Pa made in 1978. He found all the arrowheads himself and signed and dated the back. It's been a great Father's Day.
Are any of you familiar with this knife? I just remember thinking it was cool as a kid because of the bullet.
I appreciate any info you all may have.

The pattern is called a "folding hunter". Many companies have made them. Going to need shots of any tang markings in order to determine who made this one. Kind of looks Pakistani-ish because the lines are not crisp. Might be due to being well worn, though.

I think you are on the right trail Frank. I seem to remember someone else chasing info on one of those "bullet" knives, and the general concensus was Pakistan made. Not conclusive, but it's what I remember, FWIW

Love that arrow head board! I've got a box of them that my dad found when he was a boy. I should make one of those for my son.

I think Pakistan was making decent Western-style knives by 1980, even in stainless. I have some with painted on marks like this one seems to have.
Pakistan would have been a good choice for a kid who might lose or abuse a knife.
Congratulations on getting it back.

Thanks everyone. It's the sentimental value for me getting it back. Back then I wouldn't have know the difference between Pakistan and Idaho. I really appreciate the info guys.
