Hello y´all,
I recently acquired this knife (see pic). Seems to be a Chris Reeve custom, marked with his logo and "7" (out of ?), beautiful design and execution, very complex geometry as far as I can tell. Handle seems to be snakewood, steel ? (not marked). It´s a few years old, overall very good condition (two very small chips on the edge, only noticeable with finger nail), a few scuffs overall. Came in a beautiful wood case that got a few chips as well, good condition overall.
From the original owner who bought it in Florida at a knife show from Chris, and sold it to me yesterday.
Any input? Which steel, how old, how many of its type were made, history, estimated worth at the moment?

Of course, a big Thank You in advance for any help, and sorry for the badly lighted pic. I just fumbled it together a minute ago.

Amazing knife. Never seem one like that. Your a very luck man. Please let us know what you find out about it.

I too can not wait until you get info on that!! I also wish they still made that one too!!

I saw a small series a few years ago from Chris, different blade shape but similar handle. I think he called it something like interoutergral like an integral knife, but the handle material goes from inside the frame of the handle, like an inlay, to wrapping around the outside of the metal part of the handle as with a full tang knife, tough to describe in writing, but very cool to see in person.

Dang, those are some fine blades. Love to get my hands on one of those. :thumbup: :thumbup:

OK here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-207724.html is a link with some more info on these. I remember making some sheaths like the one shown in SharpByCoop’s post. There was as I remember one of these that was going to be used in a movie, but wasn’t. I think it had a tamboti wood handle and we made a couple kydex lined leather sheaths in kind of a cross draw configuration.

Wow, thanks for the info and the link to the older threads.
Seems like I was lucky getting it :) Thought I couldn´t let this one pass, I haven´t seen many truly custom Chris Reeve designs, and certainly not such a stunning one. The geometry of the blade/handle junction is truly outstanding. A pity it didn´t make it into higher numbers, the design would have good potential.
Apparently some sheaths were made; if someone has a spare, please contact me, as my knife has only the original wood case, marked CR.
And I do not intend to sell it, actually the original owner didn´t want to either, her son kind of completed the deal;
Greets to Ms. Elvira and Son if you´re reading this!
