Hi BladeForums!

My boyfriend has started collecting knives in the past few years (though he is still relatively new to it) and I would like to get him a really special knife for an important occasion. I've asked him about his grail knives, but he doesn't have anything in particular in mind yet. And I don't want to ask him too much, because I'd like it to be a surprise :) Some that he has already, off the top of my head:

  • Esee Izula
  • Spyderco Tenacious
  • Kershaw Skyline Damascus
  • Opinel 6 and 8

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
 
Spyderco delica or endura, ZT 566, Benchmade are all good choices. If you have the time, look in the sub forums at the different types/brands that are being discussed and go from there. You will find something to fit your budget and he will love it.

Actually, those are all knives he already has. I was wanting to go a bit beyond (price-wise) that selection of knives. :)
 
Spyderco Endura could be nice.
The Spyderco Paramilitary 2 has an almost cult-like following, so there's a good chance that might be appreciated. :)

Sebenza, Umnumzaan, Spyderco Tatanka (or any Spyderco with that budget...)

Or take a look at the For Sale by Makers sections to get a unique, high quality custom knife, fixed blade or folder.

With that budget, you have plenty of options.
