Hi,

I am in somewhat of a predictement. I have a chance to acquire a mint Busse Desert MOFO for $400 US. Sounds great, right? The problem is I think the seller is located somewhere in Europe. What are your thoughts on this? I have nothing against Europeons but am worried about the shipping challenges associated with this type of transaction. I really do like this knife but see this type of purchase as an unnecessary risk that could lead to me losing all or a good portion of the money. Do you have any experience with this type of thing? Thanks to all who can help.

Any thoughts/ experiences/ advice greatly appreciated.
Peter

Others who had dealt overseas will be along shortly... Only advice I can give you is to check their reputation/feedback. If that's okay, I think you would be fine. I believe it's the shipping to and not from Europe that causes hassles. Again, this is speculation.

Find out
1) Their reputation.
2) IF they have experience shipping to the U.S.
Good Luck.

The seller will cover the shipping and handling. However, I am more worried about the crossing the Atlantic Ocean. The margin of error is much greater(given the distance) here than ordering form a shop here in Canada or in the United States.

it will come by air not boat, that will increase your odds of it getting here.

make sure it is insured for the full value. have it sent via fed-x, dhl or ups with tracking.

go for it, you won't have any regrets

Sorry, forgot to add the name is Olivier Plomion. Anyone have any experiences with him?

no prob, make him insure it, shipping and insurance are usually included in the price.

remember to eat some food in between your knife buying, it's hard work and burns a lot of calories. :)

Ok thanks,

I assume the fine folks here will let me have a chance to think it over before they take it. At least I hope.(d) Thanks for the advice. Any idea how long it would take to deliver?

Peter

His feedback is very good. The only negative response was from someone whos English was rather puzzling to me. It seems he is a great guy to deal with but has recieved some bad raps being away in the French military or some other armed forces.
