I have a BM emerson i bought several years back. I like it for collectable purposes because i know its no longer made. Anyway, the lock on it is awful. you can push on the back of the blade and the liner disengages. Under simple hand pressure. Now i bought this knife new and have not played with it much since i got it, but its always had this problem. A buddy said that there was a run of those that had that problem. is this true? i dont want to send it back to BM because idont know if its fixable and i like the knife and dont want it replaced (unless thats the only option)

Call BM customer support. The few times I have contacted them, things worked out very well. They may have spare parts to cover customers with issues like yours.

Stay Sharp,
Sid

Benchmade may have no parts to repair your knife if it comes to that. According to them if your knife needs replacing you will get a Stryker or knife of similar value.
