I just tried shipping a knife to Canada for the first time and ran into some problems at the post office. They weren't sure if it was legal or not to send a knife that size and said I'd need to come back again later when their supervisor was there. The knife is an esee 6. Does anyone know if it is really not legal to send a knife that size to Canada???
thanks

Any fixed blade is legal to ship here. As long as it isnt doubled edged which it isnt. You can send any fixed blade you want no matter the length.

Double edged is perfectly fine.
Any size is fine.
Just no balisongs, switchblades, push daggers, or "knuckle knives" (although D-guard knives are okay).

Also FYI its probably easier for all to declare it as a "camping tool"

I've seen "camping tool", "sports equipment", and "knife."
All got to me.

Canadian here. I import almost all of my knives from America. Confirming that our friend Mr. Stabman is 100% correct.

that great thanks. Thats what I thought, Was a little surprised when they told me it might be a problem
thanks guys:thumbup:

I have been trying all weekend to buy knives in the Exchange and no one is willing to ship here anymore. I've been told its too risky to send a Zero Tolerance 0560 here. As long as the pivot is tight, there is no problem getting the knives into Canada.
It's really getting annoying to see great deals on knives but the sellers are unwilling to ship here.

Part of it might be folks unwilling to ship internationally to a new account with no feedback. Develop a forum presence, slowly build up your feedback, get to know folks.. you will run in to it less and less after a while
