Hello all, I have a question I am hoping to have answered. In 2001 my dad bought me my first hunting knife. It was an American made UH153. I sadly lost it around 2008 in a move to another state. Due to some unfortunate and unforgivable actions of my dad I stopped contact with him 12 years ago. My dad passed away this week and he asked if I still use that knife when I last saw him on his deathbed for the first time in 12 years. I couldn’t bring myself to tell him I lost it and have since switched to an American made buck knife. This week I bought off eBay a new in box final production run of a UH153 from 2004 I think. I just felt I wanted to go back to using this knife as a way to remember one of the few good memories from my dad. My concern is the authenticity of this knife. The SCHRADE+ stamp is present over USA153. No “super sharp” etching and there is only two spacers on each side of the handle. On all other versions of this knife I see three smaller spacer (two white and one black). What do you guys think?

Schrade was (in)famous for undocumented variations from batch to batch of knives. I wouldn't worry about it.

I pulled mine out today. Mine says:

Schrade+
U.S.A. 153UH

And on the blade it’s etched with:

SCHRADE
SUPER-SHARP

It’s in a brown leather sheath with the white sharpening stone in a pocket on the face of the sheath. To the best of my recollection, I purchased it between 2004 and 2005 or so at Palazola’s in Gloucester. It was the display model. I carried it for a hot second then put it up because I thought it might become collectible once Schrade went to China.
