Hey I have this little case I found, but don't know anything about. My main job is refurbishing mobile homes for a mortgage company, including hauling of anything left behind.(mostly garbage) Anyways I found this little guy in a drawer no sheath. At first I thought it was a oyster knife, until I picked it up and seen it was sharp. Bmade is only about 2-1/2 inches.Stamping has lightning bolt "S'es" first line case xx second 10 dots with SS in center then USA. Reverse P51 then SSP, thanks for any info on this.

Go to the Case homepage and then click on Case College. In that pane is a tang stamp reference.

Just found it online. it’s called the little devil fixed blade. At first I thought it was a cut down from something else.

Thanks, I'm curious to the purpose of the thing, unique shape. Maybe a caping knife? I'll check that case webpage later I'm on lunch break lol.

I thought it might be cut down also.

I believe the tang stamps indicate 1980 as its birthday.

P51 .... ;) hmmmm did they call it a Mustang ?

The wrcase.com website was recently updated. Looks really nice but I can't find the Case College on there now.

Somebody please let me know if they find it because I used to use it from time to time and would like to continue doing so if possible.

Yes, a Case Lil Devil, the SSP is for Stainless Steel Polished Edge, 1980 vintage.

Blade is not cut down, the original was only 6 3/4" OAL.

Thanks for all the quick responses, my phone didn't take a great pic, it has scuffing on the grip, and somebody been on the blade with sand paper, grip to. But I think I can use much finer stuff than they used and bring it back up to snuff. Gotta find some good leather make a sheath.

Look on the forum under services offered. There are some really good leather guys on this website.

Interesting find, that was a good year :p
Some sandpaper and a little work will polish it up nicely, enjoy the project!

Nice find. My dad used one of those as a small game hunting knife. He gave it to me and i slipped it sheath and all into my backpocket and went squirrel hunting one afternoon. Should have put it on my belt, lost it somewhere in the timber.

thanks, but I like to dabble in leather from time to time. I have made fixed blades in the past, although I don't have any of mine left. I tended to give them away to people. Want to get back into it, need to scrounge around make me a forge. I'm used to coal though, plenty where I was raised smack in the middle of the coalfields. But down here in coastal North Carolina not so much lol.

Looking forward to a little refurbish job on this. I redid a little barlow for my boss I found. Mostly just cleaned it up and sharpened it. Can't remember the brand though, its what I'd call a dime store knife. Was a cheapie for its day but surprisingly well made.carbon steel blades. But only beveled on one side other side completely flat. I'm going to ask her to let me get some pics. She liked it caus it reminded her of the knives her brothers had as boys, she wanted one but never got one. "Pocket Knives are for boys" that's what she was told in the 60's. My sister got a 3 blade stockman, I got a victorinox camping model, we picked them out. I was in boy scouts at the time.
