So the other day I wanted to anodize my clip and backspacer on my kizer feist. I started dissembling it but had a lot of difficulty getting it loose. Somehow it got loosened partially though, and it happened to be enough that I could get the backspacer and perform my anodizing. Well I go to put it back together, and I cannot get it tightened. It just keeps spinning. It's loose enough that the knife doesn't perform correctly. I have never had so much difficulty with a knife. Free spinning pivot problems...

Well I have tried about everything I could think of. I tried boiling some water and letting it sit in the there for a few minutes hoping it would melt the loctite. Nope. Tried side loading the blade when it's partially open. Nope. Just manager to skip and the screws are getting dangerously close to being stripped. Tried taking a soldering iron to the pivot. Nope. I am just totally stuck here.

Please give me any suggestion. Any help would be great. Aside from kizer not wanting their knives dissembled for warranty, I really would rather not send it back to china and have to wait months. Thank you in advance.

Edit: Also, I am not sure how I was even able to get it loosened at all yet it's stuck now... really baffled

Maybe the screw is cross threaded. It's also possible they are using red locktite which will need to get up to around 600 degrees to loosen.

Also spyderco mentions they use a shock method. Put a screw driver into the pivot and lay on a folded up towel. Then hit the screw driver with some type of hammer and shock the locktite loose. Be cautious with this method I've not succeeded in this method, but it's what they use at the factory apparently... But yea I know you have a Kizer.

It sucks. I will try the shock method again later then. It really is starting to make me hate on the brand. I emailed their CS too and explain the whole story and situation, and they're like we can send you replacement pivot screws. I'm just like really? I can't get the pivot screws out!
