So the other day I wanted to anodize my clip and backspacer on my kizer feist. I started dissembling it but had a lot of difficulty getting it loose. Somehow it got loosened partially though, and it happened to be enough that I could get the backspacer and perform my anodizing. Well I go to put it back together, and I cannot get it tightened. It just keeps spinning. It's loose enough that the knife doesn't perform correctly. I have never had so much difficulty with a knife. Free spinning pivot problems...

Well I have tried about everything I could think of. I tried boiling some water and letting it sit in the there for a few minutes hoping it would melt the loctite. Nope. Tried side loading the blade when it's partially open. Nope. Just manager to skip and the screws are getting dangerously close to being stripped. Tried taking a soldering iron to the pivot. Nope. I am just totally stuck here.

Please give me any suggestion. Any help would be great. Aside from kizer not wanting their knives dissembled for warranty, I really would rather not send it back to china and have to wait months. Thank you in advance.

Also, I am not even sure how I was able to get it loosened at all yet it's stuck now... really baffled.

Smashing it might work. Put the torx bit into the screw, put the knife on a solid surface and give the bit a good smack with a small hammer, that might break the bond of the loctite. That being said, sending it in shouldn't take months (plural), takes about a week to get there by mail, a week back, and probably 1-2 weeks turnaround there. At least that's what I am guessing. Still a hassle though.

Design flaw with their pivot imo. I dropped my escort and the pivot loosened up a little. No problems I thought, I'll just tighten the pivot... but like yours the screw just kept spinning.

Mine ended up having to go to the Australian service centre and to get the pivot drilled out...

I won't buy another, lets put it that way.

In terms of getting your one loose. There is a little flat D on the very end of the pivot which needs to be lined up with a corresponding slot in the ti to stop the assembly spinning. See here

You need to have the knife pivot screw side up on a rubber mat. Get the D lined up and in the slot, then insert the torx into the pivot and press down while turning slowly to undo. The downward pressure stops the D popping out of its slot. If the slot in the ti is worn or rounded or poorly manufactured, then it makes things harder.

Can you cut a slot in the other side for a flat blade screw driver? Its a last resort option, I know, but you may be there.
