We have just purchased a "666 puma-gelder" knife (from an antique dealer) as a gift for a young Eagle Scout ..If anyone could give us some information on this knife it would be wonderful to pass it along with the gift. Many thanks.
This is the only other one I've ever seen. They seem a bit rare. I would contact the gentlemen that runs that blog he has a good knowledge of Puma knives.
Greetings..welcome to the forums.
As I recall these were first produced in 1972 lasted about
eleven years. The handles are Jacaranda wood. There should
be a 5-digit control number stamped on the knife somewhere
this will tell you the date of mfg. Hope this helps.

These are getting rare - not a knife I would have given to an "young Eagle Scout" - I would have given him a SAK or a Buck 112. Hope he appreciates it and is willing to learn how to use and care for it.
