I just bought my very first Himalayan Imports Khukuri and need some help with Identification. I am unsure of the model and maker, but by the marking it looks like (Lal Bahadur Bishwakarma ('Bura') is the maker of this one. Still unsure of model or year it may have been made. Thanks for any help!

does look like a bura to me, the little sun symbol beside it means it was done after his stroke with the help of other junior smiths

other kami who have used the crescent mark include, dil, keshar , but the devangari script should translate into LB if its a bura, and I think that one is .

Yes thats a Bura. Post stroke but it predates Uncle Bills passing. Thats an ang khola as well.

Wow, what great information... Thanks so much for the help. It's really interesting to know who actually made this blade.

That's the very cool thing about HI knives. All of them with the exception of some of the villagers have a maker mark and now some of those are getting marked too.

To me it's like that kami made the knife just for me. Auntie sometimes post pictures of the kamis so you even know what they look like.
I love it.

I concur with Gehazi and Dirt Biker, it looks to be a Bura with a little help from his friends.

I sometimes look at these things till I'm cross eyed and can't tell which knife it is though, so many I get confused easily.

I'll have to ride with Dirt Biker since I don't now different on the AK prediction.

Thanks everyone! Looks like I have much to learn about these great blades, and I can see they will be very addictive.

Here is a better picture of her after processing some wood yesterday. What a fantastic tool this is.

I had no idea I bought a really good one when I picked it up as it was an impulse buy. I'm sure glad I got it though, and I'm already planing on my next!

This is our master Kami Lal Bahadur Bura's mark.

Thank you for your reply, Yangdu! It is a wonderful blade for sure, and I'm very pleased to own it. Are all the Khukuri's on your site available for immediate delivery, or do they need to be ordered? Thank you.

Blades sold here on the forum are always ready for immediate shipment.
Blades sold on the web store can sometimes be subject to availability depending on sales and shipments from Nepal.
Generally though, Auntie tries to keep the store shelves stocked.
