Please Help with Specs and Weights Info

There is a fairly new sticky thread at the top of this sub-forum started a few days ago: Specs and Weights of Swamp Rat Knives http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=736811.

Some of the specs and weights need filled in, confirmation and such. Just look for the blue Question marks (*Made easy to see and find. ;) )

If you could, check the Sticky thread and if you have any of the knives that are missing specs and weights and if you have the means to "accurately" weigh, measure thickness with calipers and such, please post the missing info either on this thread or the sticky thread so we can update the list and have it as complete as possible. :thumbup:

Some specs are going to vary per knife - especially weights due to different handle materials. G10 weighs more than micarta and such. Mag handles weigh more. Most of the lengths are going to be pretty consistant with Busse and kin knives.


In any event, any help on this list that could be provided would be appreciated.

Great list!

The SY ScrapMuk weighs 6.0 oz.

The Busse SAR4 LE weighs 13.6 oz.

Also, I have noticed that the first generation Ratmandu with micarta handles weighs 9.9 ounces and the latest micarta version weighs 10.8 ounces.

Thanks for helping add to the specs. I updated the ScrapMuk and SAR4LE.

I am going to leave the RMD at 10.0 for now. I weighed mine personally when I first got it on a pretty good scale - prior to my mods ;)

My scales on my RMD were pretty thick and fairly squared with very little radiusing at the corners. I also had the G10 RMD and those scales were more radiused - so less material. The G10 still weighed 1 ounce more at 11.0 ounces even with smaller scales.

I have mentioned that especially with the micarta and G10 scales that the weights can and do vary. I have seen a few different weights posts on some of the various knives. Most I weighed myself as I have owned most that I posted. Some I had to take a consensus of different weights I found posted and some I took what I could find.

Yours at 10.8 sounds pretty dense. There have actually been quite a few people post weights on their micarta RMDs and most were pretty close to 10.0 ounces. So, I will leave it at that.
