So I am going to try and explain this the best I can.. I just got the knifeworks exclusive benchmade 710 and I love it. However the first day I got it a feel weird things have happened. Firstly, I let this guy at my local outdoor store play around with it cause he noticed it and he did something odd. You know how you check for blade play by wiggling the blade back in forth? This guy at this store did that but the weirdest way possible, he wrapped his hand around the brand new sharp blade and started to forcibly bend the blade back and forth from the handle. This wasn't a hard wiggle, he used all his strength to try and bend it! After he gave it back to me he said it has a bit of blade play.. I didn't notice that before): Know I went home and tightened the main pivot. The problem is it unscrews whiten a flew openings. I can't tighten it down tight because it makes the knife inoperable. I tried locktight with no luck! What should I do? Did that guy mess my knife up? I don't think he did but I don't know..

I don't know either...
Don't let strangers do that to your belongings because if they should happen to break it's going to be your problem.
If you have a concern about your knife all of a sudden and nothing to compare it against such as other 710 knives or Benchmades in general then you need to do some reading on what blade play really is. Your knife has a warranty, but it does not sound as if that is what is needed. Use some Blue Loctite on the pivot screw. Follow the instructions on the package. For the record, I have a few Benchmades that the pivots back out incredibly easy too, just after a few openings.

I can't imagine what my reaction would be to the scenario you describe. Man that's weird. What Rev said is about all you can do. Hope it works out.

My 890 Steigerwalt had the same problem, I loctited it with blue loctite and I managed to get it tuned pretty well.

My 940 and my buddies 940 did the same thing. Blue loctite and let sit for 24 hours to cure properly solved this issue. If you have to add a tiny amount of thread tape to help fill the gap in the threads.

Good luck
Never, never, never let another person touch your knife
Why did you not tell him to stop immediately?
Hope it works out for you
