Please I.D. this old Axe Head (type)

Hi all,

I found this old Axe Head years ago at a "Flea Market" here in Maine. Not sure why I bought an old Rusty Axe Head, I suspect I just thought it was neat looking. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Very generally speaking it's a Kent pattern bench axe.

This type of eye,symmetrical and therefore reverseable,became common for many a bench/carpenter's/hewing axes and hatchets,as many of these were single-bevel,and the user could handle it either right or left-handed(or even swap it when needed).

Thanks jp. Perhaps this old "Kent" Axe used back in the day for Ship Building here in Maine.
