hi all! i was on vacation in AL recently and went up to TN to see some friends. i told them that i was into restoring/collecting old axe heads. one of them said that they had just gotten "a bucket full of stuff from his dead great uncle". it had this axe head in it and he gave it to me. his uncle was an old man and the "bucket" came from his old barn. there are NO markings.
do any of you fellows have any idea as to who made it, etc. it weighs 3 lbs.
any help would be appreciated. thanks...

It is a great head both in style and condition. but I don't have any insight on it's maker. you can see the line either where it was heat treated or the bit steel meets the rest of the head. Plenty of good hard bit there.
